LOVE IS KIND by Laura Sassi- Book Review & Giveaway

In LOVE IS KIND, by Laura Sassi, there’s a precious little owl in pursuit of the perfect gift for Grammy’s birthday—a heart-shaped box of chocolates. But Little Owl’s trip to Chipmunk’s Chocolate Shoppe is anything but smooth. This beautiful picture book will delight children ages four-to-eight years old. French artist, Lison Chaperon, gives attention to every detail in the adorable illustrations. I love how she weaves verses from the “love chapter,” 1 Corinthians 13, into her illustrations of a stream, over a hearth, in the petals of a sunflower, and other special places.

Excellent Christian Entertainment – NarroWay Theater

/ Comments Off on Excellent Christian Entertainment – NarroWay Theater

by Sally Matheny   Are you looking for something different, highly entertaining, and yet wholesome in nature where you can enjoy a night out with your family or friends? Not long ago, I discovered such a place. I wanted to surprise my sweet hubby by taking him somewhere we’ve never been before. Researching online, I stumbled across NarroWay Theatre, located in Fort Mill, S.C., just outside of Charlotte, N.C.   Not Just Another Love Story The nonprofit theater presents original, Broadway-style shows. At that time, what caught my eye was the WWII-theme production they were putting on called Not Just Another Love Story. I love the history of the WWII era and…

by Sally Matheny   Not long ago, I was asked to participate in a blog hop for the online magazine, Books Make a Difference. I was asked to share how a particular book has made a difference in my life. The problem lies in narrowing it down to one book! Books have influenced my whole life. But when I was thirty-years-old, there was a book which was life-changing for me. Blessed with Children My life brimmed with children—twenty -eight kindergarten students during the day, and my own two toddlers at night. In addition to His Holy Word, God used another book to drastically change that number of children and to…

The Christian Faith of Rosa Parks

/ Comments Off on The Christian Faith of Rosa Parks

What many history books and public speakers fail to mention is the Christian faith of Rosa Parks. Her faith was integral to the choices she made in her life—some of which changed the lives of millions.  Rosa Parks said, “As a child, I learned from the Bible to trust in God and not be afraid. I felt the Lord would give me the strength to endure whatever I had to face.”  National Day of Courage  In honor of what would have been Rosa Park’s 100thbirthday, the Henry Ford Museum initiated a National Day of Courage on February 4, 2013. Many gave tribute to the bravery of the former Alabama seamstress,…
