MY CHRISTMAS ABC’s Christian Book Review
Christmas will be here before you know it, so today I’m sharing a Christian book review of the MY CHRISTMAS ABC’s board book.
My one-year-old grandson will LOVE this book for Christmas!
The Details
The rounded corners are nice since he tends to put everything in his mouth right now. The book is a nice square size, measuring eight by eight inches.
The twenty sturdy pages are filled with beautiful, full-color illustrations. A few objects on each page are sprinkled with a fine, iridescent glitter.
Multiethnic people are represented. The baby Jesus’ face is not white but light brown.
Also, Santa Claus, elves, and flying reindeer do not appear in this book. Little ones will see and hear about an angel, a Christmas tree, Jesus, the nativity, a stocking, yummy cookies, and more!
However, the back cover states that the book has rhyming text. Yet I find rhyming text on only two pages. Nonetheless, the text is engaging for little ones. Each page contains one short sentence that begins with each letter of the alphabet.
A Sample of the Text
F is for family and friends who fill our hearts with love.
G is for gingerbread cookies that make the house smell sweet.
H is for hot chocolate on a chilly winter’s night.
J is for Jesus, God’s Son who was born on Christmas Day
S is for stockings just waiting to be filled.
My Take on this Book
I recommend this book for all parents and grandparents who want their little ones to experience a Christmas book with a Christian flavor.
The teacher in me likes the ABC format. I also appreciate the highlighting of words that begin with the corresponding lowercase letters in the text. There’s much to experience in this little book.
Which means my grandson will enjoy this book for several years to come. That is, if we can keep him from eating it!
