The Author and the Illustrator
The author, Heather Harris Bergevin, is a mom of three children, two cats, and one dog. She’s also the owner of Barrow Editing in Columbia, South Carolina. Known for her poetry books, this is her first children’s picture book.
Lexi Hall is the illustrator for this book. She works as the children’s bookseller and newsletter editor at Beacon Hill Books & Café in Boston. She also enjoys writing and is pursuing an MFA in children’s book writing and illustration.
About ENOUGH ELIZABETHS
The story opens with the introduction of Princess Elizabeth. She just turned ten, which is the customary age for her to receive her own tower room. But readers don’t see Elizabeth because she’s missing!
When Elenora, the new junior housekeeper, forgot to close the window in Elizabeth’s room, a tired dragon flew in to take a nap. But the castle staff wonder if the dragon took Elizabeth, too! A variety of people approach the dragon demanding Elizabeth’s return. The sleepy dragon has no idea what an “Elizabeth” is and tries to give everyone something else.
Eventually, in the middle of all the chaos, Elizabeth appears. She knows she must face one of her biggest fears—and it’s not the dragon!
Elizabeth has a fear of heights.
In the end, she and the dragon have a friendly chat and work out a cozy deal for everyone.
What is the deal? You’ll have to read the book to find out!
