Review of Fragile World: A Film by Sandy Boikian
by Sally Matheny An intriguing movie released in 2015. While fictional in story, Fragile World may shatter a few misconceptions about those who suffer with the realities of mental illness. It certainly refreshed my perspective. The award winning, inspirational film has earned the highest rating of five Doves. This nonrated family feature is free of foul language, sexual content, and violence but the storyline is best suited for ages twelve and up. The main character, Rosalie, an interior designer, suffered a mental breakdown after the death of her father and occasionally suffers from delusions. One day, she meets the man of her dreams, but does he really exist? That question, as well…

Children’s Book Review: God Bless Our Country by Hannah C. Hall
God Bless Our Country, a board book by Hannah C. Hall, introduces young children to a few of the reasons we love America—especially in the summer. Two eaglets nestle beside a grandpa eagle who’s praying…

Summer Fun for Family: Pickin’ and Grinnin’ at Earl Scruggs Center
If you've ever watched the television series, The Beverly Hillbillies, you may remember musicians Earl Scruggs and Lester Flatt. Scruggs and Flat performed the theme song for the show. You can share the history of the toe-tapping, bluegrass music with your children by visiting a wonderful museum in western North Carolina. The Earl Scruggs Center, which opened in January 2014, is located on Lafayette Street in Shelby, North Carolina.

John Tesh Concert: Talent, Testimonies and T-Shirts
A few years ago my sweet hubby and I attended a John Tesh concert. This was our first time hearing John Tesh and his touring ensemble. We were enthralled. Kicking off the concert was the webmaster for www.tesh.com. This guy had the voice and enthusiasm of a high school cheerleader. He pumped up the crowd about the website and a special promotion for the evening. If the words “tesh.com” were mentioned, and if the crowd cheered, the webmaster would appear and throw T-shirts out to the crowd. A great deal of laughter ensued after he explained his limited budget. Apparently, he made the T-shirts himself. They were Fruit of the Loom, large, white,…
