If you know a third – fifth grader who isn’t crazy about reading or history, then introduce them to Ben Franklin’s in My Bathroom! This is one of those books that even slightly older students will enjoy. My son was in the eighth grade when this book was published. He wasn’t a big fan of reading, and like most kids, he didn’t like history unless it was presented in an interesting manner. A book titled: Ben Franklin’s in My Bathroom! definitely grabbed his attention. Check out the review and see if this book is one you'd like to win in the giveaway.

/ Comments Off on If You Choose Homeschooling: Step 3 – Commit

This is the last post in the series, 3 Steps to Take If You Choose Homeschooling: Step 3 - Commit. In the first post of this series, we addressed some of our fears. One fear we did not discuss was the fear of commitment. When parents are considering homeschooling, their first thoughts focus on their children's education. But, let’s be honest. At some point, whether they say it out loud or not, parents ask themselves: “If I choose to homeschool, what kind of commitment is involved?" Here are a few thoughts to encourage you...

3 Helpful Steps If You Choose Homeschooling – Step 1: Admit

In the spring of 2020, approximately 50 million students and their caregivers experienced distance learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Even though there are differences between total distance learning and other methods of homeschooling, students have discovered they like learning at home. And most of their parents are cool with that. According to an EdChoice opinion poll, fifty-two percent of parents with school-age children have a more favorable view of homeschooling since the COVID-19 crisis began. In fact, forty-one percent of parents said they are more likely to homeschool this fall (Real Clear Opinion poll, May 2020). Are you considering making the switch? This is not a decision to take…
